The 100 year old rock’n’roll band (UK): A Song For The Decade
To celebrate the 10th birthday of ANTI Festival, here comes The 100 YEAR OLD ROCK ‘N’ ROLL BAND. The band will only ever perform once, one song and then bang! They’re gone!This band is unique. Its ten members span ten decades, the youngest under ten, the oldest in their nineties: a twenty-something, a forty-something, a fifty-something and upwards to the band’s oldest member.
On stage for one night only a true cross-section of Kuopio comes together to span the genres, span the decades and play a song for ANTI 2011.

The 100 YEAR OLD ROCK ‘N’ ROLL BAND is a collaboration between artists Joff Winterhart, Sue Palmer, Simon Roberts and Dave Forestfield, along with 10 original Kuopio residents. The group will attempt to write, rehearse, record and perform the song in one week. The project begins as the festival starts and comes to a crashing end on Saturday night!
The band is seeking musicians of all ages – from the under tens to the over nineties. If you can play an instrument, any instrument, to any standard why not get involved? Sue Palmer is a contemporary artist and producer based in Somerset and London, making live performance, sound, video and digital artworks, with people and places. Joff Winterhart is a drawing artist, animator and film-maker, and drummer – his graphic short story ‘Days of the Bagnold Summer’ will be published by Jonathan Cape in 2012. Simon Roberts is a musician, guitarist and band technician, working internationally. Joff and Simon, both based in Bristol, play together in Bucky. All three artists have collaborated together for many years to make things with other people – videos, conversation, songs, drawings and events. Dave Forestfield is a finnish recording artist, composer and music producer, whose roots are in storytelling american folk and blues. Forestfield has also composed lots of music for theater and dance productions over the years.
