The workshops, August through September 2017. The first meetings were organised in May and June. All are welcome!

Join the workshops once or twice over a week for a seven-week period.

Demonstrations, discussion, guided practice, screenings, meals, and social activities are platforms for sharing ideas
and information throughout the project.

Explore ways of using social media to develop identity,
characters and narratives.
Discover new possibilities for creating content with your mobile device.
Imagine new possibilities;

work independently and in interdisciplinary groups to invent,
produce and publish interlocking narrative across real and virtual formats.
Work together to create memories in Kuopio.
The project culminates in a real world exhibition at the
ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival, which correlates with Online content.

Week One: Performance and Identity

Wednesday 2.8. at 14:00 – 17:00 / Vamos, Sepänkatu 9

An overview of the project will be presented. In the workshop you will explore notions of self, mediated through text and images across platforms from real objects to social networks.
In the workshop you are guided in a persona by looking inward. The persona is developed by creating new social media accounts and publishing original content through the perspective of your persona on their sites.

The persona can be an animal, object, element or a virtual body without any limits of body, name, age, gender, nationality, race or social status.

Learn strategies for using social media formats including Twitter, WordPress and Instagram to develop identity and narratives. Work together to publish an interactive story world set in Kuopio.
