Tune into love
Slow down, press play and let extraordinary love songs from Europe cut straight to your heart.
Since 2018, artists Gemma Paintin & James Stenhouse (who work together under the name Action Hero) have been travelling through Europe, asking strangers to sing a love song. So far, Gemma & James have recorded the voices of over a thousand people, singing about love and heartbreak in 46 different languages.
In September 2022, they made a special journey between Homo Novus International Theatre Festival in Riga, Latvia and ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival in Kuopio, Finland, recording the voices of people who live along the route singing about love. Using these recordings, they created a bespoke digital radio broadcast designed to accompany slow travellers as they journey between the two cities.
RadiOh Europa is part of Festivals’ Path project. The project is co-curated and co-organised with International New Theater Festival Homo Novus and ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival. Festivals’ Path project is funded by Ministry of Education and Culture Finland.
