International Prize For Live Art

The ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art was awarded for the first time in Kuopio during ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival 2014, on 24th September. In December 2014, ANTI announced the continuation of the Prize. The future of the Prize is secured with the Saastamoinen Foundation, which generously supports it.

The world’s only International Prize for Live Art is 30,000 euros, making it one of the richest cultural prizes in the arts. The winning artist receives a cash prize of 15,000 euros and the same amount in the form of a production grant for bringing a new work to the ANTI Festival in the following year.

On Saturday 16th Sep 2023 we will award the Prize for the 10th time in Kuopio.

We are proud to present the four shortlisted artists for the ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art and their performances live in the Shortlist LIVE! Programme each year. ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art is an extraordinary award that marks, celebrates and supports extraordinary artists.

An international jury is charged with responding to the last three year’s of an artist’s output. A focus on recent work allows the prize and its annual shortlist to encounter artists at work, in real time, with material and imperatives that speak emphatically to the contemporary moment.
