The students from Art and Media Department of Aalto University will carry out diverse projects, interventions, performances and exhibitions in public spaces.

Wasteland – Treasure land takes the audience on a guided walk and field trip to forgotten street corners and abandoned alleyways. On a guided walk, places and their possible pasts and futures are explored together through the means of imagination. Two different functional walking tours are organized during the festival week.

Market square and the city center
We walk in the center of the city and get to know small places and nooks and crannies that have been abandoned. Together in a group, we think about memories that are connected to these places. What has been here? What will there be in the future? The walk starts in front of Gallery Ars Libera.

Border places
We get to know a larger wasteland located on the outskirts of the city center. We continue with the same themes as in the first walking round, but now we wonder together in one location. The walk starts at the address Tehdaskatu 29, Kuopio.

This project is part of a long-term collaboration between ANTI Festival and Aalto University, in which the festival serves as a platform for a course in artistic research.
