Thank you for 2025!
ANTI Festival sends warm thank yous to all our partners, funders, artists, audience members and employees for the year 2025.
The year included many wonderful encounters and collaborations internationally, nationally and locally. The ANTI 2025 took space and gave space. ANTI was a shared space, ANTI was unexpected. ANTI left a mark. A few highlights of the year:
Throughout the year 2025 we managed and facilitated the Culture Workshop Konepaja in Kuopio in the framework of the Future DiverCities 2 project, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union. The space hosted over 200 events and gathered over 7,500 audience members during the year. The activity was supported by the Future DiverCities project till the end of November. We did our best to ensure the continuation of Konepaja but we didn’t manage to establish a sustainable financial basis for it. The activities of Culture Workshop Konepaja have therefore come to an end, for now at least.
In 2025, we carried out a long-term collaboration at Konepaja between the artist Tea Andreoletti and the Konepaja community; the community gathered regularly throughout the year for workshops where they collaboratively developed a new performative work. A Piece of Space: 106 Hour Assembly was a 106-hour gathering that transformed Konepaja into a temporary communal home and, at the same time, a public space. A variety of communal programmes were organised there throughout the ANTI Festival in September.
The international ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival was organised between 9th and 14th September 2025. This year’s festival programme explored questions of producing, archiving and exhibiting knowledge. The festival works also discussed different phenomena drawing on place, space and belonging. The participants were offered places to collectively reflect on challenging themes and topics, to encounter, and to rethink; places of new experiences and hope. We also awarded the world’s only live art prize for the 11th time, with Chiara Bersani announced as the winner. We reached an audience of around 9,000 – thank you to everyone! Thank you to the artists of the festival!
The next ANTI Festival will take place between 15th and 20th September 2026.
