A Piece of Space is a performative gathering at Culture Workshop Konepaja, created for the opening and closing events of ANTI Festival.
How do you share a space and let it shape new relationships? Can a party become a collective, shared experience where the space itself becomes a living performance?
A Piece of Space is a performative gathering at Culture Workshop Konepaja. As hosts, the Konepaja community co-creates these moments to reflect on what the space has meant to them and the city, while envisioning a shared promise for free and accessible cultural spaces in Kuopio.
The work emerges from a series of workshops and practices focused on public spaces and their activation by local communities, which Tea Andreoletti facilitated with members of the Konepaja community during the spring and summer of 2025. Together, they explored hosting and celebration as tools for strengthening connections, building community, and delivering a political message about the importance of open, citizen-driven cultural spaces.
The A Piece of Space series is also being developed for Periferico Festival in Modena (IT), where Tea Andreoletti is working with residents of the INA Casa Villaggio Canaletto neighbourhood to reimagine and activate Campo Cesana, a communal piece of land in the area.
A Piece of Space is produced in the framework of the Future DiverCities 2 project, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, the Finnish National Agency of Education and the City of Kuopio.
