ANTI Festival 2023 celebrated site-specific and participatory live art in Kuopio, Finland
Local and international audiences encountered through the site-specific and participatory live art programme at the ANTI – Contemporary Art Festival between 12th and 17th September in Kuopio, Finland.
ANTI Festival once again gathered enthusiastic audiences in Kuopio to follow site-specific and participatory contemporary art programme. Local and international audiences encountered and experienced performances, guided walks and excursions as well as other events in various locations in the city of Kuopio.
Almost all of the festival events that required reservations in advance were fully booked, and there were even more people hoping to participate in the events than the capacities of the venues allowed. Participants and visitors of the festival came from all over Finland, and international cultural professionals also found their way to the ANTI Festival and Kuopio.
The festival events reached some 9000 audience members in Kuopio, when the works located in public spaces are also included in. On Saturday night, the ANTI Prize Party at VR Konepaja gathered approximately 400 people during the evening to dance to the rhythms of Pimeä Hedelmä band and celebrate the shortlisted artists for the ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art as well as the winner of the award, Tiziano Cruz.
