Open Call for Participants to Join the Project “A Piece of Space” at Kuopio Culture Workshop Konepaja

How do you share a space and let it shape new relationships? Can a space support local activisms? What does it take to host, nurture and sustain a space over time?

The Konepaja community members and anyone interested in the questions of social and environmental justice and civic action are warmly invited to join and collaborate in an artistic project, including a series of workshops, at Culture Workshop Konepaja throughout the year 2025.

The project is facilitated by artist Tea Andreoletti whose artistic practice revolves around participatory processes through collective performances, shared memory practices and experimental rituals of care.  The programme will look at the future of the Culture Workshop Konepaja  area and try to co-imagine its transformations and future possibilities.

Throughout the spring and summer, the participants will cross Konepaja’s buildings, community and politics with activities ranging from cooking sessions, water tastings, DIY renovations to parties and celebrations. In September, the project will have the opportunity to participate in the ANTI Festival 2025 in a public form determined by the participants themselves, their urgencies and circumstances. The working languages of the programme are English and Finnish.

If you are interested in participating or finding out more about the programme, come to the introductory tea event at Culture Workshop Konepaja (Pohjolankatu 1) on Thursday 13 February at 5 pm!

A Piece of Space (working title) is produced in the framework of the Future DiverCities 2 project, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
