Hum: humus, human, humming
Maija Hirvanen’s and the working group’s Hum creates a relation to the earth and to the soil through a choreographic performance. The performance awakens questions and experiences on being a human in this particular time, and simultaneously in the scale of deep time.
The two parts of Hum are artistically independent – one can experience them both or just the other. This part takes place in a small city woods in Itkonniemi. There old spruces, mossy structures of a waste land, Kuopio citys’ water facility and the Kallavesi lake meet the dog walkers, joggers and the viewer-participants of Hum.
The other part is a performative dance class at ITAK, experienced by dancing together in relation to the day’s weather, the land under the floor and the other participants. More information and registration.
