UK based artist Harold Offeh will work with residents of Kuopio to create a new live performance work called Body, Landscape, Memory.

The work explores residents’ relationship to the local landscape of Kuopio and uses performance, movement and storytelling to address experiences of belonging. A diverse group of participants is invited to share their experiences and draw on cultural and historical references as well as the group’s own personal memories. Audiences will be invited to journey through the landscapes and encounter and interact with performers.

Through the experiences of bodies in landscape, Offeh is interested in how our understanding of belonging is shaped by our proximity to sites and locations.

Harold Offeh is nominated for the 2025 ANTI Festival International Prize for Live Art. The Prize is funded by the Saastamoinen Foundation (2025–2029). From now on the Prize will be awarded once every two years.

The performance is part of Kuopio250 anniversary year programme and it has received production support of the anniversary year.
