ULTR (UK): This is called the speed of our lives
For a few minutes each, one person at a time can join the two performers from ultr and sit with them as they try to synchronise the sound of their heartbeats. Together with the performers, the solo audience forms a brief triptych, seen in reflections that appear and disappear in a unique and intimate event.
ultr is a performance research group based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and is a collaboration between Ben Ponton (b. 1961) and Fiona Wright (b. 1966), both established artists involved with independent projects, working internationally with performance art, music, and choreography. ultr is committed to seeking the elusive sound-image experience and to the importance of the viewer as live activator of the work.
