Karolina Kucia & Tero Nauha (FI): Kultura

Kultura is a corporeal and durational performance, which is process-based and site-specific. The question posed by the performance is the foundation of culture: bodies, food, environment, spaces and territories. These elements create multiple relationships of control, possessiveness, love, violence, helplessness, communality and joy. In the performance, utilising these elements like tools, to deconstruct these relationships, the performance is a search of an alternative approach towards the fundamental human urges – need, desire, hunger and lack.

Karolina Kucia is a Polish artist, working in the fields of photography, performance art and sculpture. Her themes are presence, organicity, image and metabolism. Tero Nauha is a Finnish performance artist. He has organised solo exhibitions and performances in Finland and abroad. He is working within the areas of bodily performance art, drawing and video art.
