A simple, action-based performance based on Haverila’s observation that no matter how large our problems, no matter how many times we are knocked down, we gather the strength to get back up and continue on with our lives. In this, states Haverila, we find beauty.
Akashapushpa (Liisa Haverila) is a performance artist/visual artist currently working as a regional artist for visual arts in North Carelia. Akashapushpa frames her practice as a means by which to experience the world. Her performance practice is located in an attempt to make social sculptures in specific landscapes that respond to the questions: What is this? Why is this happening? What is your way of dealing with it? Since 1996 Akashapushpa has created performance works for city streets, parks and forests in Estonia, Finland, France, Germany and USA.
