A unique meeting place for artists and audiences fascinated by how art shapes and creates the spaces of our everyday world.
The 7th edition of the ANTI Festival will be as playful, social, challenging and surprising as it ever has been. Performance and installation, sound works and text pieces, all created in response to public sites around Kuopio, a welcoming lakeside Finnish city. For ANTI 2008 Kuopio’s residents open their homes to audiences and host works made for domestic space. Other projects take place in a sports stadium, on a public stage, across the network of city streets and on, and under, the Rönö bridge. Completely free to visit this year’s festival presents some of the most exciting artists from Finland, Europe North America and Australia.
ANTI: explore the city, bump into great art, meet artists, meet friends, drink beer, eat fish, sleep well. We’ll see you in September.
Full programme announced in July!

How Contemporary Art Came Home

This one-day seminar addresses how domestic space has moved beyond a thematic element in contemporary arts practice to become both a generative space and a ‘public’ site. Artists, writers and academics present papers and lead discussions on this central theme to ANTI’s 2008 programme.
